Cavernas Ikura-do e Maki-do (Okayama)


Ikurado Cave in Okayama (jpnto.co.jp) Ikura-do and Maki-do are two caves located in Niimi, Okayama. Ikura-do (倉 洞 洞) is considered one of the three largest limestone caves in Japan, 1,200 meters long. The area around Ikura-do is called Ikura-kyo, characterized by a large cliff at the edge of the Takahashi-gawa river. This area is heavily visited in autumn, with the changing colors of the foliage. Makido Cave in Okayama Makido Cave in Okayama (jpnto.co.jp) The Maki-do (奇洞 奇洞) cave is 450 meters long, smaller than the Ikura-do, but has a beautiful underground lake with a red bridge called Ryugu-bashi.
