While working on attractions based on his hit "Super Mario Bros" series, Universal Studios Japan (USJ) operator said on Monday (19) that the park is planning to recreate the world of another popular game series In March, the "Dragon Quest". According to the USJ, visitors will be able to explore a dungeon and fighting monsters as in the game. The new attraction will open on March 17, 2017 for a limited time. The first Dragon Quest series, produced by Square Enix Co based in Tokyo, was launched in 1986 and was one of the most popular RPG games in Japan. The series saw worldwide sales of 66 million units. USJ said it has hosted a number of attractions in collaboration with popular entertainment titles, including Harry Potter and Jurassic Park with a high level of reality, so the park operator is confident it can recreate a real Dragon Quest attraction where visitors can have fun. Details about the new attraction will be released later, according to USJ. The Osaka-based park is also planning a Nintendo-themed area that will feature game characters including Super Mario until the year 2020.
